Two NYC Carriage Horses Retire

The Kaeli Kramer Foundation is thrilled and excited to announce the addition of 2 new horses to the herd today. We are honored and delighted to give these former working horses a dignified and loving retirement for the rest of their lives. King is a roan Belgian gelding and Roger is a Standard bred draft cross gelding. They worked giving carriage rides on the streets of Manhattan for many years and it is a special gift to be able to adopt them together, as it turns out that they were stabled near each other and are bonding beautifully through this special experience.

Thanks to all who helped to make this happen including the NY Horse and Carriage Association and Dr Dennis Farrell, as well as the horse owners themselves. We hope that King and Roger will have many years of loving attention with the foundation, possibly acting as models in the equine care and life skills program or just being ambassadors for the magnificent working breeds of horses that we love.

This horse worked hard on the streets of New York for 15 years, sometimes without time-off. He deserved a happy retirement and he got it. I wish all horses get rescued like King. Let’ s get together to save all horses.

This is so wonderful to see these two carriage horses living a well deserved retirment and not ending up transported to Mexico or Canada to be someones dinner. Just wonderful..I surely hope these kind of good thing’s continue for the horses that work so hard for our enjoyment.
