Spring is in the air …. we hope ?? To celebrate spring we took a trip to Atlantis Aquarium in Riverhead to see their butterfly exhibit. The beautiful butterfly plants were all in full bloom. Flying everywhere were the most dazzling collection of butterflies and moths from around the world: orange, blue, yellow, polka dots, stripes, some tiny and some giant. We saw butterflies in every color and pattern imaginable as they flew under, over and all around us.
In the next room was a tropical bird exhibit. When we entered the exhibit the birds were flying everywhere, swooping down on our heads and landing on our shoulders. What a surprise it was to find brightly colored parrot on our backpacks. The birds were very tame and perched on your finger. Two of the parrots were very good friends and flew everywhere together. They were amazing!
We enjoyed a wonderful day surrounded by the colors, patterns and sounds of nature.
