Mustang Day was a great success! Over a thousand people came throughout the day to the official opening of the Kaeli Kramer Humane Education Center. Young and old alike met Callie and Valor who were enthusiastic ambassadors for the wild mustangs. Face painting, puppet shows, story telling and prizes rounded off a fun-filled and educational day.
We wish to extend a special thanks to Jim Evans and his loving family. Uncle Jim and Aunt Dee started bringing Kaeli to the Holtsville Ecology Center when she was three years old. It was one of her favorite places to visit. She and Uncle Jim and Aunt Dee loved to visit the eagles, the goats and the sheep. Jim built the beautiful cedar frame around Kaeli’s Rainbow which adorns the entranceway. He also created the amazing puppet theater. His daughter, artist Diana Evans-Mattern wrote and directed the delightful puppet show, Bella’s Barn.
Many thanks again to the Honorable John Rouse, April and George Perry, Kellei Burke, Frank Cruz, Eddie Keiffert and the dedicated staff at Holtsville Ecology Center.
Thank you Annegret Saldenieks for sharing your beautiful photographs of Mustang Day.
