Harriet’s and Sammy’s whole world was turned upside down one month ago, when their owner passed away suddenly. Their Dad rescued them years ago from a shelter, and he would never have wanted them to be returned to that environment. Because surviving family are not in a position to take them, they are currently being kenneled at a vet’s office. One can only imagine how confused they must be by this sudden upheaval! Every effort possible is being made to keep them from going to a shelter but they cannot stay at the vet much longer. We are seeking a loving permanent or foster family, preferably together, but they can be separated if that is their only chance at a home. Harriet is 8 years old and blind. She was diagnosed with S.A.R.D. (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration) in September of 2010. Sammy is 11 years old and deaf. Because of the unrelenting recurrence of horrible ear infections, total ablations were performed on each ear, removing the ear canals and sealing the openings. He has been on allergy medication since 2009 and was recently put on a prescription food (d/d) diet. Both Harriet and Sammy are absolute loves, well-behaved and good with other dogs. Neither of them seem to have issues with the house cats that roam the vet’s office either. They are spayed and neutered (respectively) and UTD on their vaccinations. Please call Jane 631-423-6574
