At our week long Humane Education Program located at the Holtsville Ecology Site, students learned about equine acupuncture and many aspects of animal health including using a stethoscope to listen to vital signs and proper hoof care. Other highlights of the course included learning about mammal, reptile and turtle rehabilitation, training rescue dogs, partnering with therapy animals, protecting endangered species, cruelty-free shopping and eating and much more. The students will pass on their knowledge to friends and family becoming ambassadors for the animals.
