On a warm autumn Saturday friends gathered at the Kaeli Kramer Sanctuary to visit our horses and meet Ferdinand, our rescued calf who is now almost three months old. Many friends, accompanied by their pets, joined in a Blessing of the Animals ceremony to celebrate the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. Interfaith Minister Jeanne Anselmo joyfully led a loving kindness meditation and blessing of the animals and their human companions. All of the animals listened attentively to our prayer:
“May all beings be safe, happy and peaceful. May we develop our compassion in order to protect the lives of people, animals, plants and the earth”.
