Hampton Classic 2012 Equine Awareness and Adoption Day

The Kaeli Kramer Foundation was honored to attend the Hampton Classic’s third ASPCA sponsored Equine Awareness and Adoption Day on Monday, August 27. The event provided a forum for rescue groups to bring their horses and to raise awareness about equine welfare issues. Callie and Valor, two of the Foundation’s four rescued mustangs, served as equine ambassadors for America’s wild horses. Over 30,000 mustangs are confined indefinitely to holding pens by the Bureau of Land Management. They are looking for good homes and safe sanctuary. The round-ups continue despite public outcry. Today’s Show Correspondent, Jill Rappaport, and ASPCA’s Vallerie Angel, co-hosted the event along with ASPCA Equine Welfare Ambassador Georgina Bloomberg. All spoke eloquently about their commitment to equine welfare and finding homes for unwanted horses. Ms. Bloomberg rode several Project Sage rescue horses. Special thanks to Ms. Kellei Burke and Mr. Frank Cruz for accompanying Callie and Valor to the Hamptons and for working so patiently and kindly with them.
